Green is my oldest child’s favorite color, so while I’m already looking ahead towards Easter he’s been in high anticipation to celebrate a day full of green things. I remembered I should put some thought into it….last night!
Some of my favorite things to do with holidays is to make the food special. Breakfast is a favorite meal for my kids, so it’s often the best meal to put a little extra thought into. We made pancakes with green food coloring, whipped cream, and green sprinkles for extra fun. A new favorite trick of mine is to blend spinach with the eggs to color them green – my kids love them and I get to sneak some vegetables in! Green milk topped it off for a fun meal.

I like to have fun food for holidays, but I don’t like to derail my day entirely with sugar. I definitely pay for it later with attitudes! My kids love muffins, so these healthy spinach banana muffins were a great hit and fun to make together.
I’ve been wanting to do this walking rainbow experiment with our kids for probably a year now and haven’t gotten around to it. What better day to make a rainbow? This comes with a free reading comprehension sheet to explain the science behind the walking rainbow.

I put my youngest down for a nap and took my older two boys outside for a shamrock art project. We are loving this rare March sunshine! This was an easy project, low mess, and something that engaged both my three year old and five year old.
Materials:
- Shamrock Template (I found one online and traced it onto thicker paper for each boy to use)
- Chalk (I used chalk pastels, but I believe any type of chalk would work)
- Black paper
We traced a thick line around the shamrock, then keeping the shamrock in place used our fingers to sweep the chalk out to the edges of the black paper. I love the results!
